Lynne Spears On Britney: 'Just Say Prayers'

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (January 4, 2008) – Access Hollywood has exclusively spoken to Britney Spears’ mother, Lynne, following the news her daughter was checked into a hospital after police were called to the pop star’s home on Thursday night.

“Just say prayers,” an audibly distraught Lynne told Access Hollywood producer Michael Lewittes, during the brief conversation earlier today.

Lynne is currently in Kentwood, Louisiana.

Jamie, Britney’s father, went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the hospital where Britney was transported late last night.

Britney is currently under observation being held under code 5150, an involuntary psychiatric hold, which allows a medical facility to retain a patient at the facility for up to 72 hours against their will for evaluation and treatment.

A source told Access that the Spears family has long been concerned about Britney’s well being.
